Netflix teases next season of ‘House of Cards’ moments before Trump’s inauguration

You can’t exactly dismiss the timing of the release of the new House of Cards teaser. A tweet with the line saying “We make the terror” shows up with a video of the American flag flying upside down and children reciting the Pledge of Allegiance around 30 minutes before Donald Trump gets inaugurated as America’s president. As you may well know, the U.S. flag isn’t flown upside down unless in times of “dire distress” or danger. We’re not sure how much of the fifth season of this political drama will match reality but it’ll be coming back on May 30.

Apple files US$1 billion lawsuit against Qualcomm

Things are getting ugly between Apple and Qualcomm. Apple filed a lawsuit against Qualcomm this Friday claiming the chip manufacturer charges “excessive royalties” and is withholding payments in retaliation for Apple’s cooperation with South Korean regulators that are investigating Qualcomm. Apple is also accusing the chip supplier of charging an “unfair amount” to license its cellular patents. The tech giant is seeking almost US$1 billion in rebate payments, which have been withheld because of Apple’s cooperation in the investigation against Qualcomm.

Chrome on Android takes advantage of multi-window feature for better multi-tasking

A lot of the newer Android smartphones carry with it multi-window options. However, multi-window usually only works with two different apps. Now, if you to have to separate Google Chrome windows, you can actually do so. A quick tip from Android Central says all you need to is open Chrome and then long press the recent apps key to activate multi-window. If your phone supports Chrome to be opened this way, you then tap the overflow menu (the three dots on the top right corner) and then select Move to other window. This then gives you two Chrome tabs open at the same time.

Now, if you want to open a new link in the second window, simply long press on the link and tap on Open in other window. You don’t have to be selecting from the upper window to do this. You can be using the lower one and it’ll still work and just open it in the opposite window.

Jerry Seinfeld’s ‘Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee’ is coming to Netflix

Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld on 'Comedian in Cars Getting Coffee' (Courtesy of Crackle)Jerry Seinfeld is set for a big payday following the latest news that his web series on Crackle will be making a move to Netflix. The comedian’s deal with the streaming service includes 24 new episodes of Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee as well as two stand-up specials. Aside from that he’ll also have a developmental role with company where he’ll be helping out for both scripted and unscripted shows. Seinfeld’s camp as well as Netflix’s won’t say how much the deal is but Forbes is estimating he’ll be getting US$750,000 per episode of the Emmy-nominated show (which is reportedly $250,000 more than what he earned from Crackle).

Aside from the $20 million he could earn from the show, the specials might also be coming with a hefty price tag. Chris Rock was reportedly paid $40 million for two specials, we’d assume Seinfeld won’t be getting less than that amount. Except for last year when Kevin Hart out-earned him, Seinfeld has consistently been named by Forbes as the highest-paid comedian and it looks like this might help him regain the title.
