Sony introduces touchless shutter app to let you take photos with an EVF camera

Sony's helping you out to take shake-free tripod exposures with a new camera app. The Touchless Shutter app works with Sony cameras with built-in or optional electronic viewfinders (full list of compatible cameras here). What it does is you just have to  wave your hand over the EVF and it'll trigger the shutter. For the A7S and A7II, you can even control bulb shooting. Just wave once to open the shutter and wave again to close.

Twitter summarizes your timeline with Highlights

Twitter is hoping to boost user engagement with the new feature they're introducing on Android. Called Highlights, the app will be sending you push notifications no more than twice a day of the best tweets of the day. Of course, getting best tweets seems like a subjective approach but what Twitter does is it goes through accounts and conversations that are popular among the people you follow as well as the trending stories of the day

It's an opt-in feature and you'll be getting no more than two notifications a day for your own Highlights reel. At the moment, it's only available in English for Android users. Twitter said they want to refine the experience on Android first before considering bringing it to other platforms.

Know who's calling your Android phone with Facebook Hello

The previously rumoured Facebook app that can block callers is now official. The social network debuted Hello, an Android caller ID app. The app shows you the Facebook information your caller is willing to share with his or her friends on the site. The app also shows you how many times the caller has been blocked and automatically block those who are repeat offenders. At the moment though, the app seems to just be available in Brazil, the US, and Nigeria. No word yet when it'll be spreading to other countries but we're pretty sure that'll happen soon.
