Google releases Handwriting app for Android

If not having an official Android handwriting app was holding you back from getting a stylus, now you can get that stylus you've been eyeing. Google just unveiled its Google Handwriting Input app. The keyboard plugin takes the place of your keyboard if you feel like using your digits to input text or even emojis. It's compatible with Android smartphones and tablets and can be used with or without a stylus. It can recognize both cursive and print handwriting and supports 82 languages and 20 distinct scripts. It's compatible with Android 4.0.3 and above and available for free download.

Movie shot entirely with an iPhone gets US theatre release

The movie Tangerine, which was a hit at Sundance Film Festival, will be making its way to theatres in the US this July. What's unique about the film is how it was shot. It was made entirely with an iPhone 5s and Filmic Pro app. It received rave reviews after its debut in Sundance. A lot of other movies have already been shot using the Apple device but this was the first one to premiere at the festival. If things go well with its release, this could open the door for more iPhone-shot films.

'Hearthstone' makes its way to iPhone and Android smartphones

Blizzard finally brings its combat strategy game, Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraftto even smaller screens. It's now available on iOS Universal so it'll work on your iPhone as well as on Android tablets and phones. The smartphone version gets a redesigned interface to make it easier to play on the smaller displays. Since there are a lot of cards on the board at any given time, what Blizzard did for the phone is you can only see half of the cards at a time, and you can just tap on them to see zoomed-in version of the cards.

The great thing is you can play the full game right from your mobile device. It even supports Naxxramas and Blackrock Mountain expansions. But these are sold separately. And it also syncs with your account on Blizzard's Battle.net system, so no matter where you play, it'll count towards your stats. However, this means you have to be online to play the game even if it's just against the AI.

Sony Walkman makes a hi-fi comeback

Sony isn't ready to give up on the iconic Walkman just yet. The Japanese company just put out the Walkman ZX2, targeting the audiophiles in us. This portable hi-fi music player can play almost any file type out there and if you pair it with a headphone amplifier, you'll get the best sound possible out there. If you're worried that your iTunes collection will go to waste, Sony has DSEE HX technology that works to upgrade these compressed files to get them back to studio-quality resolution. It has 128GB of memory that's expandable via microSD and promises 60 hours of listening to MP3s and 33 hours of listening to hi-res audio. It'll cost quite a lot though at US$1,200.
