LG releases software fix for G Watch to fix residue buildup

LG is releasing a rather unusual update for its G Watch device. There are some users reportedly seeing residue buildup on the charging pins of their smartwatches. While it doesn’t have an effect on the device’s performance, LG wants to remedy the issue with its software update. The problem is due to the battery current causing the terminal pins to discolour. The fix will disable the current when the G Watch is not connected to its charging dock. They are pushing the update to all G Watch owners.

Verizon’s servers link us to the HTC One M8 for Windows

We all know HTC is holding an event on August 19th and we’re getting more information that they are unveiling the Windows Phone version of the HTC One M8. A Verizon URL links to an image of the phone, which shows the HTC One M8 with Windows Phone UI on it. There are no comments from HTC or Microsoft about the device so we don’t know the features and specs of the device just yet. We can assume that it has similar specs to the Android version such as quad-core processor, 5-inch display, BoomSound speakers, etc.

Dropcam halts pre-orders for Tabs to start work with Nest

Dropcam has just announced that they are halting work on Tabs, a sticky movement sensor that can be placed anywhere in your house to let you know if a door, gate, or window is open. The reason they gave is they’re now working on their projects with Nest. If you remember, Nest acquired Dropcam a while back. There is no word if Tabs will ever be made so those who pre-ordered will be getting full refunds in the coming weeks.

Travel photography site Fotopedia to shut down this August

If you’re a fan of the professional travel photography site Fotopedia, we have some bad news for you. The site will be shutting down on August 10. Fotopedia said this is because they “don’t think there is a suitable business in it yet.” Photographers who want to get their work can find out how to download them from here. After August 10 though, everything on their servers will be permanently deleted.
