Google adds Canadian French and 12 other languages to Gmail

Google aims to make Gmail as global as possible with the addition of 13 new languages to the email service’s interface. It now reportedly covers 94 percent of the world’s population. Google added Canadian French, Chinese (Hong Kong), Zulu, Afrikaans, Galician, Azerbaijani (Azeri), Sinhala, Armenian, Lao, Georgian, Nepali, Khmer, and Mongolian. The additional language support starts its roll out today for the Web and feature-phone browsers. You can try these out by adjusting the settings. However, the change in the display language does not change the language people use in sending or receiving emails.

Google Now turns into your virtual spouse with occasional reminders

In case you needed someone nagging you to get a certain chore done, Google Now has an occasional reminder feature that lets you set recurring alarms for a particular task. It can also be a one-time reminder based on your time or location (like it will remind you to buy milk if it senses you are inside a supermarket). We’re not sure how frequently the alarm will sound off but if you really need that extra push, this might be a good feature to utilize.

Wear Aware helps you keep track of your Android smartphone

Wear Aware is designed to add a bit more functionality to your Android Wear device. It is like a leash for your smartphone that when you walk away from your device, it vibrates and plays an alarm to let you know you left your phone behind. It’s a pretty simple app and we’ve seen this on the likes of the Samsung Gear watches and the Pebble smartwatch but it is still good to have that option on the new Android Wear devices.
