Twitter’s new profile layout looks much like a Facebook profile

You’re not alone in thinking that the profile redesign on Twitter looks very much like your Facebook profile page. Twitter has started to roll out the new look to a select number of users, including Hollywood stars like Zac Efron, Channing Tatum, and Kerry Washington. The header photo is stretched out at the top of the site, you get a square to left for your profile photo, your followers and photos are tiles at the bottom of your profile. Yup, it definitely has a Facebook feel to it.

Aside from the new look, Twitter will make the font size bigger for your tweets that get the most engagement. You can also pin one of your best tweets to the top of the page. And you can choose what type of tweets you can see when you view another user’s timeline, including just the tweets, tweets with photos or videos, or tweets and replies. The new features will reportedly be coming out in the next few weeks.

Qualcomm introduces 64-bit Snapdragon chipsets

Qualcomm is bringing to the market two new mobile processors built with 64-bit architecture and Cat 6 LTE. The Snapdragon 810 and 808 are intended to improve on its current offerings to help usher in better devices in the future. The chips are expected to hit the market next year.

The new members of the Snapdragon line will add support for 4K displays with the help of the Adreno 430 GPU and these processors based on ARM core designs instead of its own Krait. Qualcomm said Cat 6 LTE support will depend on the carriers. The Snapdragon 810 uses a combination of a quad-core ARM Cortex-A57 processor and Cortex-A53. While the 808 uses two ARM Cortex-A57 with a quad-core Cortex-A53 CPU.

Twitter buys Android lockscreen app maker Cover

Twitter looks to be building its mobile presence with its latest acquisition. The social network has bought the company behind the alternative Android lockscreen Cover. Cover places the apps you use on the lockscreen based on the time of day and your location. We’re not sure what the implications of this sale are at the moment (trying to compete with Facebook Home, perhaps?). The newly acquired company did not say if they will develop the app further as they integrate into Twitter’s team. In the meantime, the app is still available on Google Play Store.

Raspberry Pi’s new computer comes in the size of a DDR2 memory stick

If you thought Raspberry Pi computer was tiny, then its latest computer might make you want to reevaluate that thinking. The new Compute Module fits its 4GB storage and processor into the space of a DDR2 memory stick. The organization created this smaller computer with a small standard connector to allow users to fit into any interface they might like. Users no longer have to rely on the built-in ports of the Raspberry Pi.

The Compute Module will be sold alongside a starter IO Board in June. There is no individual pricing available yet. Large-scale buyers can buy in batches of 100 at around US$30 apiece.
