Sony debuts pricey tablet for lawyers, govt. officials

Sony wants to help lawyers and government officials get rid of the large number of physical documents they have on their desks with a new Digital Paper tablet. It makes use of a 13.3-inch E-Ink Mobius display and mimics the look and size of an A4 paper. The tablet can convert Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel files into PDF file format. It also has USB and Wi-Fi connectivity, 4GB internal storage, and microSD card slot. The Digital Paper is powered by a rechargeable lithium-ion battery that can reportedly last for three weeks sans charging. The device will be out on the market in May and it will set you back US$1,100 or around $1200+ in our currency.

Apple takes on Office for iPad with iWork update

Apple isn’t sitting idly by as Microsoft introduced the new Office for iPad. The Cupertino-based tech company updated its iWork suite to share read-only documents and allow users to open iWork documents from iCloud webmail. Other cross-app updates include the ability to edit imported charts and a new editor tab. The updates are available on the Mac, iOS, and iCloud. Gmail turns 10 today

April 1 isn’t just about the jokes and pranks. Exactly 10 years ago, Google launched Gmail in beta. It started out as an invite-only thing until 2007 and grew into one of the biggest free online email services. The Verge said it tried to set itself apart by offering bigger storage than Yahoo! Mail or Microsoft’s Hotmail and let users send out up to 25MB attachments in the beginning. It even made inbox search faster and arranged emails in a threaded conversation style.

Google lays down Pokémon challenge for April Fools’ Day

April Fools’ Day is still a few hours away but it’s already the April 1^st on the other side of the planet so Google’s latest prank involves the Pokémon world. This “new build” of Google Maps challenges you to find and catch all the creatures on your Pokédex in order to earn the Pokémon Master title. You can play along if you have the latest version of Maps on your iPhone or Android device. You just need to hit the search bar and tap on “Press start.” You only have until 2am on April 2 to catch them all though.
