Yahoo! brings Weather app to the iPad

Yahoo! finally brings its revamped Weather app to the iPad. The app has been optimized for the larger screen and lets you view weather data summary with the site’s curated Flickr photography. The graphs, weather data and forecasts move and animate every time you scroll. The app also has sharing capabilities through Twitter, Facebook and email.

Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 reportedly moving from capacitive to virtual buttons

The upcoming Microsoft Windows Phone 8.1 update is reportedly introducing big changes next year. Among them is the use of virtual buttons instead of capacitive buttons for the Back, Home, and Search options. This refresh will help OEMs to repurpose some of their Android devices to Windows Phone and perhaps introduce a whole slew of new smartphones.

Airbnb updates Android app with on-the-go posting capabilities

Airbnb wants to encourage Android users to utilize the app while travelling with the new update. You can now write your reviews while you’re still on the move and even find social links with potential guests. The new listing design also lets you see the calendar schedule of the place they’re interested in renting. The company is working to overhaul its mobile apps and have Android features be as it can be with iOS app.

Relaxed lets you auto-respond to Facebook and Twitter messages over the Holidays

If you want to step back from your social networking over the Holidays but don’t want to seem like you’re ignoring your followers and friends alike, you can setup Relaxed. The tool responds to Facebook and Twitter mentions on your behalf. There are canned responses or you can generate your own, much like those out of office email responders. However, while it can reply to public and private messages on Facebook, it can’t do the same for Twitter Direct Messages.
