Leaked images show PlayStation’s new handheld Project Q device

Photo: Sony

PlayStation has been developing a gaming handheld accessory for the PS5, codenamed Project Q, but details have been scarce since its first reveal. However, new images and a video of the device surfaced online over the weekend, revealing more about its operating system.

The leaks, which were posted on Reddit, Imgur, and Twitter by user Zuby_Tech, show that Project Q is running on the Android operating system. The OS looks very basic and probably not the final version for the handheld.

The images also give us a glimpse of Project Q’s internal components. According to the initial announcement, the device consists of an 8-inch tablet flanked by DualSense Controllers. The most notable feature of the leaked images is that the controllers are not detachable from the tablet. But like with any other leak, we always have to take them with a grain of salt.

Grab 'Dungeon of the Endless' for Free on Steam and prep for 'Endless Dungeon'

Screenshot: Amplitude Studios, Sega

Sega and Amplitude Studios are offering Dungeon of the Endless for free on Steam until July 27. This offer comes out before Endless Dungeon debuts on October 19. You can also grab both DLC packs for free, but they are limited in supply. The game is a mix of roguelikes, classic RPGs, squad tactics, and tower defence, where you have to defend your spaceship from enemies in a random dungeon.

Endless Dungeon is still a hybrid game, but it's also a twin-stick shooter with a "roguelite" progression and a multiplayer mode. You can play with two friends or solo. The game will be available on PC, PS4, PS5, and Xbox Series X/S. If you pre-order the Last Wish Edition, you can join the closed beta in September.

YouTube tests a feature that lets you make Shorts inspired by comments

Photo by Alexander Shatov / Unsplash

YouTube continues to look for ways to make Shorts more engaging and fun. And one of its latest experiments is letting viewers use comments from other videos as inspiration for their own Shorts. This experiment, called “viewer-created Shorts featuring comments,” is only available to a small group of users on Android and iOS devices. It works like this: when a viewer watches a video, they can select any comment from that video and use it as a starting point for their own Short. They can then edit and add effects to their Short as usual. The original creator of the video and the author of the comment will not be notified when this happens, but the viewer who made the Short can find it on their channel page and in the Shorts feed.

However, not everyone may want their comments to be used for Shorts. And that’s why YouTube gives creators the option to disable comments on their videos. This way, they can prevent viewers from making Shorts out of their comments. YouTube says this is just an experiment, and it may not roll out to everyone. The company often tests new features without announcing them, so this one could be a sign of something bigger to come.

'Enchanted Arms' disappears from Xbox Store, leaving fans in the dark

Image: FromSoftware, Ubisoft

Enchanted Arms, a 2006 RPG by FromSoftware and Ubisoft, has been delisted from the Xbox Store without warning or explanation. The game, which was compatible with modern Xbox consoles, is one of the earlier works by the studio that created the Dark Souls series and other acclaimed games. Fans who want to play will have to find a physical copy for PS3 or Xbox 360.

The game received mixed reviews when it came out, but some fans enjoyed its turn-based combat and anime-style graphics. It is not a Soulslike game, but a traditional JRPG with charm and humour. However, its digital availability has been cut off, and there is no indication of its return. FromSoftware is busy with other projects, such as the Elden Ring DLC and Armored Core 6, which are releasing soon. The studio is unlikely to remaster or re-release Enchanted Arms soon, if ever.
