Google releases Android 7.0 'nougat' to Nexus devices

Google has released the latest version of its popular and dominant Android OS mobile operating system. Codenamed Android N or 'Nougat' the latest tasty dessert is a product of collaboration from thousands of developers and users who have participated in Android's beta program.

"Android Nougat reflects input from thousands of fans and developers all over the world. There are over 250 major features in Android Nougat, but we wanted to highlight a few of the features you’ve been most excited about," a Google representative wrote on the Android Blog.

Nougat is said to be more personal, better for productivity, and more secure. We have no Nexus devices on hand so we will likely review the OS when it comes to our HTC 10 ot Moto G Plus handsets that we use for testing and app reviews.

LinuxCon and ContainerCon 2016 kick off in Toronto tomorrow

Toronto, Canada is going to host LinuxCon and ContainerCon which are annual conventions focusing on Linux, Open Source software and with the addition of ContainerCon, cloud infrastructure solutions for enterprise and business applications. Taking place at the Toronto Westin Harbour hotel from August 22 - 24, the event brings a number of notable speakers including Canadian author and activist Cory Doctorow, Jim Whitehurst of Red Hat, Brian Behlendorf of Hyperedger Project, Brandon Phillips of CoreOS and Chris Meson and the presence of Linux founder Linus Torvalds.
