Logitech Chorus are open-back headphones for the Quest 2

Source: Logitech

Logitech has released a new audio accessory for the Meta Quest 2 virtual reality headset. The Chrous is designed to improve the headset's sound quality without using your normal over-ear or in-ear headphones. It slides onto each side of the VR headset, working with the stock strap and Meta's Elite straps. You can swivel the speakers to find the proper positioning for your ears. These are open-back headphones so that they can let in ambient sound.

The volume is controlled through the Quest 2's volume rocker. The Chorus uses the headset's USB-C port. But it supports USB-C passthrough, so you can continue using the headset or connect other devices while it's charged. According to Logitech, these speakers have custom-tuned drivers designed to deliver the "biggest moments and the tiniest details in the metaverse." The Logitech Chorus retails for US$99 (around CA$128).

Samsung Odyssey Ark comes with Stadia, Xbox Game Pass built-in

Source: Samsung

If you pay close attention to tech news, you'll probably see this gigantic new Samsung monitor. The Odyssey Ark is a 55-inch Quantum miniLED 165GHz monitor with a 1000R radius, making it a big, super-curved personal theatre built for gaming. In that vein, it's actually also an excellent hub for cloud gaming services. And it has the capability for that.

Samsung adds its Tizen OS to this monitor, which means it has access to Samsung's Gaming Hub feature. This hub was introduced in Samsung TVs earlier this year to have gaming sources in one spot. This hub supports PCs, game consoles, and services like Google Stadia, Xbox Game Pass, Ubotik, GeForce Now, and Amazon Luna. On top of that, it has Twitch and YouTube integration for watching gameplay. There's no price or availability in Canada, but if you're curious, this massive display retails for US$3,499 (around CA$4,521).

GarageBand gets new Katy Perry, Seventeen 'Remix Sessions'

Source: Apple

GarageBand on iOS and iPadOS get new DJ sessions that can help users learn to mix two songs. Katy Perry's "Harleys in Hawaii" and K-Pop group Seventeen's "Darl+ing" are added to GarageBand's Sound Library this time. Elements of both songs are added to the app so that you can experiment with them.

On top of adding the songs, Katy Perry's track is the subject of the new in-person Today at Apple sessions. "Music Skills: Remix Katy Perry" will be a live tutorial showing how to use GarageBand features in depth. Apple used Seventeen's "Darl+ing" as a Today at Apple session when it promoted the opening of its Myeongdong store in South Korea.

'Overwatch 2' players can now get old gear from the old game

Source: Blizzard Entertainment

Ahead of the October 4 launch of Overwatch 2, Blizzard is giving players of the original Overwatch game a chance to get their old items. You get an opportunity to merge separate accounts to get all the in-game cosmetics or gear you've collected alongside the progress you've made. If you have multiple accounts on the same console, though, you can only merge one account. You can unlink a console account from your battle.net account, but you won't be able to add a new console account for an entire year. Here's a complete step-by-step on how to do that.
