WWDC 2013: iOS 7 and iRadio launch tomorrow confirmed by WSJ

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

It is the day before the big WWDC 2013 Keynote and developers are already walking the streets of San Francisco in wide-eyed anticipation of tomorrow's big reveal. The Wall Street Journal has some news today to whet appetites. The newspaper has confirmed that a 'new and improved' iOS 7 is going to make its debut tomorrow together with a possible iRadio music streaming service.

"The new design abandons Apple's longtime approach of designing icons and apps to resemble real-life objects, like address books and fabric, in favor of plain solid backgrounds and more white space," WSJ claims. More than just a makeover, the new iOS 7 is expected to provide new way to share photos and videos with other iPhone users. This could mean an AirDrop-type peer-to-peer sharing feature like what is offered on Macs and a competing feature to many Android devices S-Beam type NFC file sharing.

iRadio is  the purported music streaming service that many expect Apple to announce after a reported deal with Sony Music Entertainment last week. Apple has reportedly signed earlier deals with Vivendi's Universal Music and Warner Music Group, which would give iRadio, or whatever the streaming service is called, access to content from the biggest record companies.

The keynote for tomorrow's Worldwide Developers Conference kicks off tomorrow at 10:00 AM Pacific Time. Canadian Reviewer will have reports of the proceedings.
