NVIDIA GeForce Now is now available in beta on iOS

NVIDIA launches its GeForce Now game streaming service on iOS. But since the service technically doesn't adhere to Apple's App Store guidelines, the company employed the workaround Apple offers, which means it's usable through Safari.

"It'll be brought directly to the browser through a webpage similar to our Chromebook client," according to Phil Eisler, general manager for GeForce Now. And it's launching in beta, so you might experience bugs and glitches.

You've also probably seen the news that GeForce Now will be one way to play Fortnite on Apple's ecosystem, even as Epic's public dispute with Apple rages on. It isn't available right now, though, as NVIDIA is working on a touch-friendly version.

"While the GeForce Now library is best experienced on mobile with a gamepad, touch is how over 100 million Fortnite gamers have built, battled and danced their way to Victory Royale," Eisler explained in a blog post. 

Most Bluetooth controllers are expected to work with the service, including the DualShock 4 and Xbox One-generation pads. NVIDIA hasn't tested it with the new controllers from Sony and Microsoft. Still, it expects that the new Xbox One controller should work given its slight difference from the previous generation controller. The Razer Kishi, which plugs directly into the iPhone's charging port, will be compatible. There won't be mouse or keyboard support, though.
