Microsoft brings PC Game Pass to NVIDIA’s GeForce Now service

Microsoft

Microsoft is fulfilling its promise to make PC Game Pass available on NVIDIA’s GeForce Now service. The companies have revealed that Game Pass and Microsoft Store games will be streamable on GeForce Now from August 24th. Although not all games will work immediately, this will let Game Pass members enjoy titles like Deathloop and No Man’s Sky on NVIDIA’s platform.

It might seem strange to access one streaming service’s games through another, but there might be benefits. GeForce Now is designed for enthusiasts who want the best visual quality and low latency, with the Ultimate tier supporting 4K at 120 frames per second. So, Game Pass could perform better on GeForce Now than on other platforms if your PC and internet connection can handle it.

NVIDIA GeForce Now on Chrome, Edge browser supports 1440p at 120fps

New browser options for GeForce Now (Source: NVIDIA)

NVIDIA has just updated its game streaming service to add support for 1440p resolution at 120 frames per second in a Chrome or Edge browser. If you're part of the RTX 3080 tier, you can access the new browser gameplay option by simply tapping on 1440p on the GeForce Now web version.

NVIDIA launched this membership tier last year to support streams of up to 1440p with 120fps on PCs and Macs or 4K HDR at 60fps on NVIDIA's Shield TV. But you can only access this feature if you use the dedicated Mac or Windows apps. The web version maxed out at 1080p at 60fps before.

NVIDIA GeForce Now is now available in beta on iOS

NVIDIA launches its GeForce Now game streaming service on iOS. But since the service technically doesn't adhere to Apple's App Store guidelines, the company employed the workaround Apple offers, which means it's usable through Safari.

"It'll be brought directly to the browser through a webpage similar to our Chromebook client," according to Phil Eisler, general manager for GeForce Now. And it's launching in beta, so you might experience bugs and glitches.
