Gmail bids old full-screen compose window goodbye

Whether you like it or not, the new compose window for Gmail is here to stay. Google announced in a Google+ post that the compose window is finally rolling out to everyone and the old full-screen compose window is out the door (or should it be out the window?).

But you can still get the full-screen experience when writing your emails. You just need to click on the expand button at the top right of the new compose window and set that as default by clicking “Default to full-screen” in the More options menu at the bottom right corner of the window.

Google to extend free Gmail calls through 2011

One of the cooler features introduced by Google to its Gmail web-based mail program is the ability for users in the US and Canada to make free calls directly from their browser. As long as you have an Internet connection, a mic and speakers you can easily make calls. Google will continue the free service until the end of 2011 which is great news for GMail users who already benefit from this service. For more details check here.

Breaking News: Free Google phone calls from GMail

Google expanded GMail's functionality by adding the ability to make calls directly from the mail interface. The cloud based service is available to customers in Canada and the US and gives you unlimited free calling to those to countries for the remainder of 2010. There are also competitive international rates that rival that of Skype. GMail subscribers just need to sign into their accounts and follow the installation steps or mosey on to http://www.google.com/chat/voice.

Chrome OS to power Google's cloud in 2010

Google recently announced its Chrome desktop OS that is set to launch in 2010.  What makes the Google OS is unique is that it works entirely inside the Google Chrome browser with tabs as the main means of navigation between programs.
