iOS 14 might use Find My to prevent you from being stalked

Source: 9t05Mac

Apple's Find My feature is useful for locating lost Apple devices. Now, it looks like it could be used to prevent someone from using trackers or other accessories from stalking you. Item Safety Alerts feature makes a reappearance in the iOS 14.5 beta, which will inform you if an unknown device being tracked on Find My is "moving with you." For iPhone owners who love using Pinterest, the app will be bringing you inspiration right from your home screen. When YouTube started taking advantage of iOS 14's picture-in-picture (PIP) functionality, it was limited to users with a YouTube Premium subscription. But now, the company is allowing all iOS 14 users who use the YouTube mobile website to access the feature, at least through Safari. The native YouTube app has never supported PIP, even for those with Premium accounts. But we'll keep you posted if things change. Apps like Netflix have already started offering the feature, so we're waiting for YouTube to cave.

iOS 14 lets you set Gmail as your default email app

One of the lesser-known additions to iOS 14 is the option to set your default apps for email and web browsing from Apple's offerings. Chrome on iOS can already be your default browser, but some users seem to have issues where a bug resets it back to Safari when the iPhone restarts. Now, Gmail's newest version (ver. 6.0.200825) can become the default choice on iOS, too.

To make the switch, head to the settings page on your iPhone or iPad and select Gmail. From there, click the Default Mail App option and swap it from the default Mail app.
