LG hasn't shared Android 12 update plans for LG Wing, V60 yet

Source: LG

LG might not be making new phones anymore, but it's working on supporting existing devices. In fact, three more handsets are getting Android 12 updates in Korea this Q2 2022. These include the LG V50, V50S, and Q92 5G. But the company doesn't seem to have any plans for the last two major flagship devices it released: the V60 ThinQ and Wing.

The Wing will get an update this second quarter, but only to "enhance your phone's security with Google security updates." That means it's only getting a security patch. While the updates are coming to Korea first, they typically hit other markets in the following weeks or months. So, if you have any of those devices, you can still expect an update from the company.

MWC 2019: LG introduces V50 ThinQ 5G

The LG V50 ThinQ 5G with the optional Dual Screen case

The V series isn't something LG typically launches at this time of the year. But it looks like the company wants to capitalize on the buzz surrounding 5G and opted to launch its own 5G-ready phone at MWC. The LG V50 ThinQ 5G will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset alongside an embedded Qualcomm X50 modem, which promises "up to 20 times the speed of 4G."

Looks-wise, it's similar to the V40. It has the same 6.4-inch 3,120 x 1,440 resolution OLED display. Its body is MIL-STD 810G compliant. The notch hasn't gone away, either. You get two selfie cameras: a standard 8-megapixel sensor and a 5-megapixel wide-angle sensor. It also has the same triple camera system at the back, which includes a 12-megapixel standard lens with f/1.5 aperture, a 12-megapixel telephoto lens with f/2.4 aperture, and a 16-megapixel ultra-wide lens with f/1.9 aperture.
