Final 'Star Wars Jedi: Survivor' trailer drops ahead of April 28 release

Respawn Entertainment and Electronic Arts have dropped one final teaser for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor. The game is set to come out on April 28 for the Sony PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X/S, and PC. The almost two-minute trailer is a mix of story and gameplay highlights, focusing on protagonist Cal Kestis and how he joins forces with some non-playable companions. If you want to go into the game blind, the trailer does hit a few story beats, but Respawn suggests "not all images appear in-game."

Respawn plans to release 3 more 'Star Wars' games

Source: EA/Respawn Entertainment

You can expect three more Star Wars games to come out of Respawn Entertainment. EA announced that the studio behind Titanfall and Apex Legends is working on a follow-up to its 2019 hit Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order, but it isn't known if it'll be a direct sequel. A first-shooter game in the pipeline is overseen by a former Star Wars Battlefront producer. And then there's a strategy game produced by Respawn in the works with Bit Reactor leading its development. That new third-party studio is headed up by Greg Foertsch, who previously worked on the XCOM series.

EA's exclusive license to develop and publish Star Wars games will expire next year. And it looks like it wants to churn out as much as it can before that happens.

‘Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order’ comes this November 15th

Respawn just announced that Star Wars Jedi: Fallen Order is coming this year—November 15th, to be exact. The single-player game follows Cal Kestis, a Padawan trying to escape from Emperor Palpatine’s command to kill off the Jedi. There is no gameplay video yet but the company teases an “innovative” combat system that has melee combos and, as expected, lightsabers and the use of the Force. You’ll need to do use acrobatics to counter enemies as well as solve puzzles along the way. They promise you’ll get a mix of new and “iconic” places, equipment, and foes. The game is coming to the PC, PS4, and Xbox One.
