LG to unveil dual-screen 'Wing' phone on Sept. 14

We've already seen this new dual-screened smartphone from LG in action in a leaked video. But, now, we're getting an official launch of the "Wing" foldable device on September 14 at 10 am ET. It's technically not the first time LG has dabbled in dual-screened devices. But it's other phones relied on having the second display included through a case. The Wing will be its first foldable that extends out of the screen. When the screen is flipped out, it makes it look like the letter T. You can see in the teaser video above hints of how the screen folds out.

According to LG, it's part of the company's new Explorer Project, which "will ." LG partnered with companies Rave, Ficto, Tubi, and Naver for this project. Qualcomm chips will be powering these devices. Tubi is known for free ad-supported video streaming, while Line messaging app owner, Naver, is supposedly working on a customized dual-screen web browser.

Samsung improves on foldables with the Galaxy Z Fold 2

After a very rocky start, Samsung has been taking notes and steadily improving its foldable devices. The new Galaxy Z Fold 2 is a testament to this promise. It now comes with bigger displays and a hideaway hinge that's even better than the one on the Galaxy Z Flip.

The Galaxy Z Fold 2 has a bigger Cover screen (its external display) at 6.2 inches with a 2,260 x 816 resolution. The Super AMOLED screen now covers the entire front of the device. It comes at a tall 25:9 aspect ratio, an improvement from the bezel-ridden 4.6-inch screen of the previous generation foldable.

Inside, the main screen is bigger, too, at 7.6 inches with a 2,208 x 1,768 resolution. The Dynamic AMOLED screen has a 22.5:18 aspect ratio and an adaptive 120Hz refresh rate. It also now incorporates Ultra Thin Glass for better image quality and feel.

Netflix lets you preview some original shows, films for free

In the face of growing competition in its space, Netflix lets anyone watch a number of its original films and shows for free. The streaming service has a new "watch free" page that previews content like Bird Box, Stranger Things, Grace and Frankie, The Two Popes, Murder Mystery, and the like without signing into a Netflix account. For the shows, only the first episode is available.

If you want to check out the free content, you need to watch in a browser on a computer or an Android phone. It isn't accessible through the Netflix mobile apps or on the iPhones' mobile browser. Netflix previously offered its hit rom-com To All the Boys I've Loved Before for free for around a month, and it has put up some of its documentaries on YouTube for free to help out educators and students.
