Moto Razr 2022 launch gets rescheduled to August 11

Source: Motorola

A day after Samsung is expected to launch its new foldables, Motorola is gearing up to release the new version of its Razr flip smartphone. The debut of the Moto Razr 2022 was originally scheduled for August 1 in China. The brand's new flagship Moto X30 Pro was also expected to debut on the same day. Now, that launch is being rescheduled to August 11 at 2 AM ET. While we most likely won't hear about global availability, the event would at least give us more detail about the devices. The Moto Razr 2022 is rumoured to get a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 chipset paired with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage.

Samsung Galaxy Z Fold4's under-display camera might be less visible

When Samsung launched the Galaxy Z Fold2, one of the significant changes it made is with the selfie camera in the inner display. Samsung switched to an under-display selfie camera. And we're expecting to see that in the upcomig Galaxy Z Fold4. A tweet that has since been deleted showed what looks like a slide from an official presentation about the phone. It claims that the UDC (under-display camera) will be less visible.

This change was made possible with the use of scattered subpixels. That supposedly improved the resolution of the screen by around 40%, with pixel density going down from 94ppi to 132ppi. That means, the camera will be less visible when there are images or text over it. We don't know how this will affect image quality, though. We don't have to wait long to hear about this new device. Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy Z Fold4 with a new Galaxy Z Flip device this Wednesday, August 10.

Fitbit Connect app for desktop discontinuation will remove local music syncing

When Fitbits first came out, you could sync these wearables to your desktop via the Fitbit Connect app. But that app is going away by October 13, 2022. And with it, the devices will lose local music sync. The company encourages you to use its Android and iOS apps instead. But you won't be able to add music you have stored on your computers. Fitbit isn't offering an alternative beyond using the Deezer and Pandora apps. This is probably one way the company is encouraging/forcing you to upgrade if music playback from your Fitbit is essential to you. When Wear OS launches on Fitbit devices in the future, it'll get more widely available app integration like Spotify and YouTube Music.
