Apple TV app shows up on Roku devices ahead of Apple TV+ streaming service launch

We're weeks away from the launch of Apple's streaming service, and, just in time for that, Roku devices are getting the Apple TV app. This launch will be the first time the app will be introduced to third-party products. Right now, it only lets you access things like their iTunes video library as well as subscribe to Apple TV channels directly from Roku devices. But starting November 1st, this app will also be the home to the Apple TV+ streaming service, which features the company's original programming.

The new app will require you to authenticate your identity by singing in with your Apple ID. Once you've done so, this will give you access to things like purchased content, personalized recommendations, the ability to buy and rent from iTunes, as well as subscribe to paid channels (like HBO, Showtime, etc.). The Apple TV app will come to most Roku streaming devices. You can check out the full list here

Wave and interact with Pokémon on your Pixel 4 phone

It might not be the most useful feature, but we have to say it's the most adorable one. Google has partnered with The Pokémon Company to teach new Pixel 4 users how to use Motion Sense, which is the gesture-based way to control the new handset. The mini-game called Pokémon Wave Hello lets you interact with Pokémon Sword and Shield like Pikachu and Eevee. Wave at the adorable creatures and earn points. Aside from this, there are Pokémon live wallpapers that you can interact with. Google even says when it's nighttime, these pocket monsters will go to sleep, too. Cute. We want it.

You'll need to get the Stadia Founder's Edition to play wirelessly at launch

If you imagine yourself playing games wirelessly on Google's upcoming game streaming service, Stadia, at launch, you have to make sure you do that on a TV with a Chromecast Ultra because that's the only way you'll be able to do so. Good thing Stadia's Founder's Edition bundle, which costs $169.99, will come with these two as well as three months of the 4K/60fps-supported Stadia Pro subscription.

RING introduces seven integrated outdoor Smart Light products

The nights are getting darker earlier this time of year and we look to illuminate our ways for safety and better view of who, or what, is moving closer to our home at night time. RING recently introduced seven new outdoor motion sensing Smart Lights to the range that not only light the darkest corners in the yards and pathways at night, but they’re also integrated thanks to the new Ring Bridge. When one light turns on so can the rest of them. The motion sensing lights would obviously come in handy for having better lit views of who's approaching the house but they've come in handy these past couple of weeks when the dog needed to go out and do his business. Since there seems to be an increase in skunk and racoon sightings in our residential streets, the new lights have given us fair warning when the troublemakers come too close for comfort before we even unlock the door. With Halloween quickly approaching you can also see who’s trick o’ treating before they even reach the front steps.
