'Huawei Mate X' foldable phone appears on billboard ahead of MWC 2019 launch

Samsung isn't the only one with a foldable device coming out. Chinese company Huawei has its own take on the trend. Plus, it's throwing in one more "buzzy" feature: 5G connectivity. Huawei already announced that it had plans to show this new piece of tech off at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. And this photo of workers putting up a billboard at MWC seems to confirm the news. It's being called the Mate X and you can see the tagline "World's Fastest Foldable 5G Phone" in the billboard.

Unlike Samsung's take, the Mate X's larger screen seems to be wrapped around the outside of the device. We're not sure yet what it's going to look from the other side but we will find out about it today as Huawei will be holding its press conference at 2 p.m. Barcelona time.
