Chromecast will now let you skip intros on Netflix

If you use a Chromecast to stream Netflix on your TV, it wasn’t possible to skip through intros when you were binge-watching. That’s just changed. Android Police reports users seeing a new Skip Intro option at the bottom of the controller interface on your phone app. If you’re on Android this should be showing up, but as The Verge pointed out, users on iOS don’t seem to have this functionality just yet.

Acer outs Predator X27, a 4K, HDR, and G-Sync monitor

Acer’s Predator gaming brand is throwing a bone to desktop gamers with its newest monitor. And by bone, we mean all the latest tech it could. The Preador X27 4K monitor doesn’t just feature a true 3,840 x 2,160 resolution. It also has NVIDIA’s G-Sync tech, a graphics card and screen synchronization tech. On top of this, it has full 10-bit HDR support.

But that isn’t all. This 27-inch monitor also has a 144Hz refresh rate, 1,000 nits of brightness (which is a big deal since most HDR screens max out at 600 nits), and 99 percent coverage of the Adobe RGB colors spectrum. This comes at a pretty price, though. It’s available on preorder on Newegg for US$2,000 and will launch on June 1st.

‘No Man’s Sky’ will finally add online multiplayer support

Since the game’s launch back in 2016, full multiplayer support has been a feature Hello Games has been talking about bringing to its game No Man’s Sky. Now, it seems this is finally making its debut in the biggest update to the game yet. The No Man’s Sky NEXT update will bring full multiplayer support as well as support for the Xbox One.

According to Hello Games’s co-founder Sean Murray, “You’ll be able to explore the universe with your friends, or bump into random travellers. You can help friends to stay alive, or prey on others to survive. Your group can build anything from tiny shelters to complex colonies spanning planets, and everything is shared online for others to visit. Fight as a pirate or a wingman in epic space battles with friends and enemies. Race exocraft across weird alien terrains, creating race tracks or maybe just scenic trails to share online.” The update will arrive on July 24th and will be a free update for current players of the game.

Samsung continues roll out of Oreo update for Galaxy S7 and S7 edge

Review: Samsung Galaxy S7

We might already be talking about Android P but operating system fragmentation remains a big issue for Google’s mobile OS. And so, now we’re still talking about Oreo updates. This time we’re focusing specifically on the halted updates of Android 8.0 to the Samsung Galaxy S7 and S7 edge. The rollout began a few days ago in the UK but the update was met with unexpected reboots for a limited number of units. A similar problem was reported here as well. That’s why the Korean company halted the release of the update to fix the issue. Thankfully, it didn’t take them too long to fix it. Firmware updates for the Galaxy S7 and S7 edge have started to rollout again. If it hasn’t hit your phone yet, just wait a bit. It should be heading your way soon.
