Apple’s been moderating search terms for GIFs on iMessage after porn showed up

Apple uses Bing to power its new GIF search on iOS 10 and trouble showed up in the most unusual way. Searching for even a supposedly harmless term like “huge” uncovered things like someone’s private parts or someone engaging in sexual acts. Apple has since started to moderate the search terms for both words with obvious sexual connotations but this will be a tricky line to tread as even seemingly harmless words like “bounce” show up images of women’s breasts.

Early reading skills are extremely important, naturally; but research shows that older children who struggle with reading with middle school and later are at risk of giving up entirely. Further, in old age, reading can go by the wayside as eyesight and hand strength fail or as older adults downsize into smaller housing and leave their books behind. We love our coffee and according to the Coffee Association of Canada, two-thirds of adult Canadians enjoy at least one cup of coffee a day with the average of 3.2 cups daily. It's the most popular beverage consumed amongst Canadians over the age of 16. Most of us consume our first cup of coffee at breakfast time (I sometimes enjoy my third by lunch).

Sony World Photography Awards judges and first selection of images revealed

2017 marks the 10th anniversary of the Sony World Photography Awards - the world's largest photography competition. Today, the first selection of images were revealed. Entries are said to capture all aspects of the world we live in from grand architecture, fascinating underwater scenes and cultural celebrations as well as spectacular shots from the animal kingdom and creative digital images. 

Judges include esteemed experts from across the photographic industry who will come together to uncover celebrate the best images shot in 2016 across categories including Professional, Open, Youth, National Award and Student Focus.
