First look at Samsung's Galaxy S7 and S7 Edge

Samsung's latest flagships, the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge are slated for release in Canada and offer a significant upgrade to the S6 series of devices from a year ago. With new aluminum and glass enclosures, the Samsung Galaxy S7 (with a 5.1-inch display) and the larger S7 Edge (with a 5.5-inch dual edge display for $100 more), both offer a more integrated build, water resistance and an improved camera with f/1.7 aperture that lets in more light plus. Here are some impressions.

Aston Martin's new standard bearer turns it up to 11


"This is not only the most important car that Aston Martin has launched in recent history, but also in its 103-year existence," CEO Andy Palmer said in a statement. "The DB11 rightfully places Aston Martin once again as a leading brand in the luxury automotive market."

Revealed at the Geneva Auto Show was the Aston Martin DB11, a successor to the DB9 and a realized step up and production version of James Bond's bespoke SPECTRE DB10, the DB11 blasts Aston Martin into a new era of motor production with a 600 horsepower 5.3 litre twin-turbo V12.

More HTC 10 renders show up in anticipation of April launch event

The HTC 10 is a new chapter for the smartphone maker and is expected to be shown off in April for a possible May release. The latest flagship from HTC is shown in a series of render leaks in various popular colour choices including silver, white, black and the inevitable gold variants.

Clad in a premium aluminum and glass design that is a mix of the old HTC One line and the more progressive HTC One A9. It isn't known if we will have these colour options at launch or if they will be offered to selected markets or carriers as they have been in the past.

Transmission torrent app red flagged for malware on Mac OS X

Transmission has been one of the longtime favourite apps for sharing and downloading torrent files on Mac OS X and has been recently flagged for malware. Being open sourced software, the Transmission BitTorrent client version downloaded last Friday or Saturday are sketchy and are downloaders are being warned to update to the latest 2.92 version to avoid being targeted by a ransomware that infiltrated an earlier version of the open source software.

KeRanger is the is believed to be the "first fully functional" ransomware on the OS X platform. When incorporated into an app, the malware connects to a remote server via the Tor anonymizing service, then "begins encrypting certain types of document and data files on the system."
