Xbox beta app for Windows 10 gets social

Microsoft released the latest update for its Xbox beta app on Windows 10. Now it comes with better social sharing tools including a new Facebook friend finder. This feature looks through your Facebook friends list to identify if anyone has Xbox Live accounts that you can add. You just need to link your Facebook account with your Xbox Live account. The game DVR feature gets a boost as well as it now allows you to record yourself narrating as you play, instead of having to do that in a video editing app.

The Xbox store also gets overhauled. It has improved search functionality and code redemption, among its new features.

‘Sherlock’ Victorian special gets title and release date

Just like a typical Sherlock Holmes mystery, the Victorian-set Sherlock special has been shrouded in, well, mystery. That is until now. The 90-minute special gets a new trailer (as seen above) and is called Sherlock: The Abominable Bride. It’ll be coming to the US via PBS and BBC One in the UK on January 1, 2016. There will also be a theatrical release of the film in select venues around the world.

The one-off special is set in 1890s London and it has been co-written by the series creators Steven Moffatt and Mark Gatiss; who are also now working on the fourth series of Sherlock. BBC One tweeted that the new series will start shooting next spring and it takes the duo into “deeper and darker water than ever before,” according to Gatiss.
