Take photos with volume keys with Motorola’s Camera app update

Motorola wants to help you easily take shots with the latest update to its Camera app. Version 3.2 lets users take photos with the smartphone’s volume keys. They even add the nifty feature to headsets with volume controls. The update should be rolling out at the moment.

Review: LG G Flex on Rogers

The first smartphone on the planet to offer a curved and flexible screen is a powerhouse device no matter which angle to view it from.

Unless you’ve been hiding under a rock (or simply not reading Canadian Reviewer) you’re probably aware that curved screens are all the rage. First it was TVs, with both LG and Samsung debuting curved OLED and LCD HDTVs and UHDTVs.

The rationale being that a curved screen offers viewers better picture quality because it eliminates edge-distortion caused by the increased distance of the sides of the screen to your eye. Yeah, I’m not necessarily buying that reason either, but one thing’s for sure: Curved screens are here and starting with the LG G Flex, they’re going to be in your hand, not just your living room. So the question is, why do we need a curved smartphone?

Google sells new Nexus accessory to speed up charging

Google has released a new “Nexus Charging Accessory” (a.k.a. a mini USB cable with block adaptor) for your Nexus device. The accessory is listed as a 1.8A adaptor, which is a bit higher than the Nexus 5’s 1.2A adaptor or the new Nexus 7’s 1.35A charger. It might not be blazing fast but it will boost your charging speed up a bit. It retails for US$14.99 and is also available in the Canada and the UK.

Flappy Bird set to make a comeback

You might have moved on to the next fad but if you still care about Flappy Bird or want to see what all the fuss was about, the game will make a comeback in the future. Creator Dong Nguyen said in a tweet that he wants the game to return to the Android and iOS platforms but didn’t say when. If you’ve waited this long to get into the game, there isn’t any harm in waiting a bit more.
