Hey Alexa, can we talk about the election?

We are just days away from the Canadian Federal election and if you're still undecided on who to vote for, where can you turn to for the latest information? For the first time ever, Canadians can stay up to speed with developments on the campaign trail, or test their own knowledge of elections in Canada, using just their voice—by asking Alexa.

Alexa can now help voters access answers to a range of election queries, whether you want to know what you should bring with you on voting day, confirm which riding you belong to, or even to show off to your friends how much you know about the Canadian political system.

On election night, Alexa will be an up-to-the-minute resource to keep voters abreast of the latest available official data. If you want an update of how things are shaping up for your preferred party, just ask, “Alexa, how is Trudeau doing?”, or to find out the status and results of the election, ask, “Alexa, how are the elections going in Canada?”, and Alexa will respond with the latest information available. Throughout election night, Alexa will also be able to answer questions including how specific parties are doing, how many seats they will get, and the final voter turnouts.

All real-time data is sourced directly by The Canadian Press, which will be regularly updated with the latest official information. To try Alexa’s Canadian election coverage, just go ahead and ask! Here are a few questions...

General update questions about the status and results in the elections:

“What’s my election update?”

“Who is running in the Canadian elections?”
