Acer is the latest tech company to take a stab at creating a smart ring. And it's obvious who it's taken inspiration from, a.k.a. the Samsung Galaxy Ring. The Acer FreeSense Smart Ring comes in a titanium alloy casing with sizes ranging from US size 7 to 13 and weighing around 2 to 3 grams.
This wearable can track health metrics like heart rate and heart rate variability, blood oxygen levels, and sleep quality and stages. It comes in matte rose gold and glossy black and can handle typical daily wear and tear with an IP68 and 5 ATM water resistance rating.
According to the company, the FreeSense Smart Ring's in-app features will be available for free. The company hasn't revealed final pricing yet, likely due to the impact of potential US tariffs, but it is expected to cost between US$199 and US$250 (around CA$275 and CA$345) and launch later in 2025.
