Leaked promo teases Meta's smart glasses with heads-up display

Source: UploadVR

Ahead of Meta's Connect event this week, the company's long-rumoured smart glasses with a heads-up display have been leaked in a promo video shot by the company itself. According to UploadVR, the clip appeared briefly on Meta's YouTube channel.

Reportedly developed under the codename Hypernova, the glasses are expected to launch under the Ray-Ban brand. In line with existing rumours, the leaked video shows a display on the right lens that allows you to interact with Meta AI, translate signs, and navigate maps. The screen doesn't appear to be visible from the outside.

There are also controls available through a wristband, which PCMag pointed out could be the electromyography accessory the company teased in 2022. It is designed to translate your finger and hand movements to actions on the screen. The video shows this with someone moving their fingers across a surface to type out a message.

An extended version of the promo video shows glasses designed around the Oakley Sphaera line, featuring a camera at the center of the frame. These don't seem to have a built-in screen and seem like they are designed for high-performance athletes.
