Tecno shows us what a modular phone concept looks like in 2026 at MWC

Tecno Mobile is trying to bring modular phones back, at least in concept form. The Chinese tech manufacturer showcased a modular smartphone at Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, Spain. It uses what the company calls Modular Magnetic Interconnection Technology, which lets you snap the accessories to the back of the very slim 4.9mm device. The modules interact with the phone with a combination of Bluetooth, Wi-Fi, and mmWave, allowing them to share data instantly without connecting to physical ports.

Tecno came up with 10 different modules, including a 10-20x telephoto lens with a camera-like grip, a sleek 4.5mm thick 3,000mAh battery pack, extra speakers, and an antenna booster, to name a few.
