Ask YouTube adds support for conversational searches

YouTube is getting more of Google's AI tools. One of these features is being integrated into the Ask YouTube feature. This function has existed in the past, allowing users to ask Gemini questions about specific videos on the listing page. However, its newest iteration brings Ask YouTube to the search box.

You don't just have to use basic keywords for your video searches this time. Instead, you can take a conversational approach to your queries. Ask YouTube will then compile relevant long-form and YouTube Shorts into what Google says is a "more structured, interactive response." You can even further tweak your search with follow-up questions.

YouTube is rolling out this new version of Ask YouTube for Premium subscribers in the US aged 18 and older. A wider rollout of the feature is already in the works.
