Waze helps ease road trip planning with new toll calculator

Are you working out the budget for your upcoming road trip? Waze is introducing a new feature for its Canadian and American users. The app now has a new toll calculator that wouldn’t just tell you how many tolls you’re going to drive by along the way. More importantly, it’s going to show you an estimate of how much these will cost you. The navigation app has been able to tell you if you’re going to pass by toll roads, but it’s the first time it can show you how much it’s going to cost you. This feature will help you decide if it’s worth spending your time and money on main highways, or if it’s better to take the scenic route to avoid them. For now, the feature seems to be exclusive to Waze users. Waze’s parent company Google hasn’t said yet if the feature will make its way to Google Maps.

Google Pixel 4 gets spotted out in the wild

There seems to be a pattern of Google Pixel phones being spotted out in public transport. This time around, a 9to5Google reader made out the phone while riding the London Underground. The phone is hidden under a generic case, but the camera sensor arrangement gives it away. What we know about the sensors so far came from a leaked version of the Google Camera app. It has one main sensor, a suspected 16-megapixel telephoto lens, a spectral sensor for sensing gestures, and a flash. Google made the unusual move of showing us official renders of the phone way ahead of its release. The consensus is the phone will be coming out in October, but it wouldn’t come as a surprise if Google decides to release it earlier.
