Google Play Pass is a paid subscription service that gets rid of the ads

Leaked screenshots of a new subscription service Google is planning to launch just surfaced online. Called Play Pass, it would let you play games without being interrupted by ads. It promises a massive library of games and even “premium music apps and everything in between” with all in-app purchases unlocked. Google will offer a free 10-day trial and then would charge US$4.99 per month after that. We doubt Spotify will be part of the catalog, but we might expect some of the bigger games to be included. The screenshot shows games like Stardew Valley and Marvel Pinball. This also seems to be Google’s answer to Apple Arcade. According to Android Police, Google says this service is currently being tested.

Google Fit officially rolls out Dark Mode and new charts for sleep tracking new changes

Google Fit has officially launched a couple of features that have been available for some users. Dark Mode is now fully rolled out to users. This can be enabled/disabled with a toggle in the app’s settings menu. There are also new charts for sleep tracking integrations. The app used to let you pull sleep data from third-party apps before. But now the information is presented in a way that will help you better understand your patterns and trends. So, if you choose to act on it, you can. You can also edit or add sleep history manually if you think it was incorrectly entered. And now iOS users will be able to see the route they ran/walked/biked/exercised as tracked by wearable devices or other apps/services as well as a summary of the workout.

Tom Hiddleston: Disney+’s Loki will be in ‘a context you’ve never seen him before’

Disney

Tom Hiddleston is giving us a hint of what we can expect from his infamous Marvel character Loki and his upcoming Disney+ series. While speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Hiddleston said we’re going to see Loki in a new context. He said, “It’s very, very exciting because in many ways it’s the character you know, but in a context you’ve never seen him in before. And if I say any more, I’m gonna say too much. So that’s what’s so thrilling—there’s so much to explore that I haven’t yet explored. That’s very exciting.”

The version of Loki appearing in this TV series is one from Avengers: Endgame, which means we get with the 2012 version of Loki who absconded with the Space Stone after his failed invasion of New York. So, we’re getting villain Loki without the character development he went through from Thor: The Dark World and succeeding Marvel films. But as Hiddleston hinted, we might be seeing new sides to this villain, especially since we know he has the potential to be heroic. The wait is going to be a while though, as the show doesn’t launch until the spring of 2021.
