Niantic will officially launch ‘Harry Potter: Wizards Unite’ on June 21st

After testing it out in Australia and New Zealand, Niantic’s new augmented reality-based game Harry Potter: Wizards Unite will start rolling out globally this Friday, June 21^st. As The Verge points out, it isn’t exactly clear how many markets will get the game during this launch date—especially with Niantic’s tweet saying to watch for more information “as the game goes live in your region soon.” Pokémon Go took a bit of time before it reached certain countries, so be prepared to wait for a bit.

Marvel is making a Hall H appearance at San Diego Comic-Con 2019

After not showcasing anything at last year’s San Diego Comic-Con, the Marvel Cinematic Universe is making a comeback this year. A pretty interesting move considering we don’t know what Disney’s MCU has planned after Spider-Man: Far From Home premieres this month. We’re most likely going to hear what the new slate is going to be for the coming year/s. Perhaps even footage from director Cate Shortland’s standalone Black Widow film. According to Collider, we might hear from The Eternals, Shang-Chi, and even a Doctor Strange sequel. We must also consider the Disney+ live-action series like Loki and Falcon & Winter Soldier, among other things. SDCC is about a month away, so the wait isn’t going to be long until we find out what the MCU is cooking up for us.

Instagram tries new, easier way to recover hacked accounts

There have been cases of Instagram accounts being hacked where the actual users can’t get in because the hackers immediately hijack the recovery tools to help users recover accounts. But now, Instagram is hoping this new method will make it easier for users to get a hold of hacked accounts as well as stop hackers from getting in in the first place. Instead of having to wait for an email or filling out a support form, the Instagram app will ask for different kinds of info, like your original email address or phone number. The recovery six-digit code will be sent to that contact info of choice. This gives you access to your account even if the hacker already changed the user name and contact data on your account.

At the same time, Instagram brought to Android users and is now rolling it out to iOS users the safeguard that would prevent anyone from claiming a username for a “period of time” after account changes—whether the account change was done because of a hack or a voluntary change. At the end of the day, what Instagram is trying to achieve is letting you recover your account within the app and without having to rely on its security team. Hopefully, this works out well and rolls out quicker than expected.

Samsung targets August 7 launch for the Galaxy Note 10

The Samsung Galaxy Note 10 launch is less than a couple of months away and it seems we have a date. According to CNET, the Galaxy Note 10 will be launched at an Unpacked event on August 7^th. It’ll reportedly be held at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, which is the same place that Samsung launched the Note 9 last year. Samsung hasn’t confirmed the date or venue yet, but we’re sure to hear more soon as the launch approaches.

The Note 10 is rumoured to be coming in two sizes, with each model getting a 5G version. The Note 10 and Note 10 Pro will reportedly share a lot of features, but it will differ in screen and battery sizes, as expected. The phones are rumoured to be getting the same all-screen, Infinity-O design of the Galaxy S10. But leaks suggest the camera hole will be in the middle instead of it being off to the side. Leaks also suggest it’ll have the ultrasonic in-display fingerprint sensor as well.
