Blizzard's 'Overwatch' will make its way to the Nintendo Switch on October 15th

Blizzard

It's finally coming. Nintendo announced at its Nintendo Direction presentation that Blizzard's team-shooter game Overwatch is coming to the Switch console on October 15th. The game will support Nintendo's motion controls, allowing you to do things like steer vehicles or perform specific attacks. If you play the game on other platforms, then we're sorry to say that there isn't any cross-save here. You'll need to play the game again to access certain features. If you're okay with that, the port comes with 15 character skins and a three-month Nintendo Switch Online individual membership. Those who purchase the game by December 31st unlock a Golden Loot Box with at least one guaranteed Legendary item. It's available for pre-order at $49.99.

Hulu and MGM plan to adapt 'The Handmaid's Tale' sequel

Hulu

Margaret Atwood's sequel to The Handmaid's Tale is set to come out on Sept 10th. And Hulu and MGM already plan to adapt The Testaments for the screen. The original dystopian novel is about a society that obliterates the rights of women, and it was published 34 years ago. Since it came out, a film version starring Natasha Richardson was released by Cinecom Pictures in 1990. And in 2017, Hulu adapted it into an Emmy award-winning show with Elizabeth Moss as the protagonist Offred. The show is set to come back for a fourth season.

Now, MGM and Hulu are in discussions with The Handmaid's Tale showrunner Bruce Miller "about how the upcoming novel can become an important extension" to the television series. But it isn't clear whether The Testaments will become a standalone film, a show, or be part of the current series. The novel will take place 15 years after the events in The Handmaid's Tale.

Audi's new digital OLED lights can display warnings to drivers

Audi's newest digital OLED lights might change how automakers use headlights and taillights in their vehicles. At the very least, it might change Audi's lineup. With digital OLED, the German automaker can customize its lighting designs. The varied lighting designs are possible by "dividing the OLED light sources into a much greater number of individually energized segments." We get over 50 segments that can be activated as needed with their brightness continuously adjusted. In comparison, the current OLED lights only have four segments.

This technology would allow their lights to display everything from signals, symbols, and even messages instead of merely acting as brake lights or turn signals. Symbols can be used to warn other drivers and road users about upcoming hazards. The warnings are available in multiple forms like angled and horizontal lines as well as triangle-shaped warning signs. With these digital OLED lights at 1mm thick, they're the "perfect technology for executing a highly precise and versatile form of customizable lighting design." Audi hasn't specified which one of their vehicles will get digital OLED lights first. But expect it soon as the company plans to showcase it next month at the International Symposium on Automotive Lighting.
