YouTube's HDR feature appearing on Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note8 devices

Users of the latest Samsung Galaxy S8 and Note 8 devices are starting to see an HDR feature on YouTube's playback and resolution settings. The compatible devices will be able to make use of videos that were shot with High Dynamic Range. This brings greater depth and saturation to video on compatible devices.

Sony Xperia XZ devices, which support the feature, are also starting to see the option.

Apple Watch Series 3 with LTE to be announced at tomorrow's event

In what is likely the most leaked Apple product launch ever, more information gathered from the iOS 11 GM (Golden Master) firmware as well as sources like Verizon, tell us we are going to see a brand new version of the Apple Watch, called Series 3 according to a page on Verizon's website.

Looking very much like its predecessors, the new Apple Watch Series 3 sports a new face, a coloured digital crown and will likely have variants with LTE functionality that's somehow tied in to the user's iPhone SIM card. According to KGI’s Ming-Chi Kuo, the LTE models aren't capable of making or taking calls independently. Non LTE enabled Apple Watch models are expected as well.

New Fujifilm program will offload RAW conversion from your PC to camera

Fujifilm hopes to improve your workflow with a new RAW conversion program the company calls Fujifilm X Raw Studio. What’s unique about this program is it’s designed to offload the conversion of RAW photos from your computer to your camera, making use of its processor. The X Processor Pro will be in charge of working on the files so you can use your Mac or PC to do other work. X Raw Studio can convert single or batch RAW files, preview converted content, and save/load/copy conversion profiles.

What prompted Fujifilm to develop the program was the increasing size of RAW files that are bogging down work for photographers who are doing batch conversions of RAW files. This program will supposedly handle batch conversions much more efficiently. The catch is you can only process RAW files taken with the same camera model as the one connected via USB to the PC. The Fujifilm X Raw Studio will be available for download by late November and it’ll first be compatible with X-T2, X-Pro2, X100F, and GFX50S.
