'Furiosa' trailer shows the dark and bloody origins of the 'Mad Max’ heroine

Meet Furiosa, the prequel to Mad Max: Fury Road that explores the origins of what we consider one of the most badass female characters in cinema history. Furiosa is not just another hero in the Mad Max saga. She is a scene-stealer, a complex and compelling character, and a spin-off worthy of director George Miller’s vision. 

In Fury Road, she shared the spotlight with the Road Warrior. Now, almost 10 years later, Furiosa is back, with Anya Taylor-Joy taking over the role from Charlize Theron. The film will reveal Furiosa’s life before Fury Road, from her childhood in the idyllic "Green Place" to her rise as a hardened warrior in the desert dystopia.

Microsoft Copilot is now available for everyone

Copilot, the AI chatbot that used to be called Bing Chat, has officially launched following its public preview. You can now use Copilot in 105 languages and 169 countries and on any modern browser for mobile and web, says Caitlin Roulston, the director of communications at Microsoft. Roulston also says that Microsoft will keep launching new features in preview so they can get feedback from users and make Copilot better.

Pizza Pizza and Crave offer a tasty deal for pizza and TV lovers

Pizza Pizza and Crave have teamed up again to offer the Crave Combo until January 7, 2024. The Crave Combo includes a large pizza with three toppings, three drinks, and two months of free access to Crave Basic. You can order the Crave Combo online or at any Pizza Pizza location. Pricing might vary, but Canadify's Bill Taylor noted that it costs $16.99 in his area.

To redeem your two months of Crave Basic, go to crave.ca/redeem and enter the promo code you received with your order before February 2, 2024. You will need a valid credit card to sign up or re-subscribe to Crave. After two months, your subscription will automatically renew at $14.99 per month plus taxes (unless you cancel or change it at crave.ca). However, if you are getting a free Crave Basic subscription, that's supposed to just cost $9.99 per month. The $14.99 charge should be Crave's Standard tier. It's unclear if Pizza Pizza just made an error in this regard.

Apple fixes two zero-day bugs in iOS, iPadOS and macOS

Apple released software updates for iOS, iPadOS, and macOS today to fix two critical security vulnerabilities. The company said the bugs were being exploited in the wild. “Apple is aware of a report that this issue may have been exploited against versions of iOS before iOS 16.7.1,” the company said about both flaws in its security reports. The updates are available for the iPhone, iPad, and Mac.

Google’s Threat Analysis Group (TAG) researcher Clément Lecigne discovered and reported both exploits. Bleeping Computer reported that Google TAG often finds and reveals zero-day bugs targeting high-risk people, such as politicians, journalists, and dissidents. Apple did not share any details about the attacks using the flaws.
