Threads lets you tag Instagram users that aren't on the app yet

Anuj Ahooja

Instagram has introduced a new feature for Threads that lets you tag Instagram users who are not on Threads yet. You can follow them and get their updates when they join Threads. The screenshot above, shared by Anuj Ahooja, shows how it works. You can tag an Instagram user who has not set up a Threads profile, and the tag will appear with an Instagram icon, not the usual @ sign. This way, you can follow them before they join Threads and stay connected with interesting users. You can also access their Instagram profile by tapping on the tag, creating more integration between the two apps.
