Samsung upgrades key features on Galaxy S25 FE

Source: Samsung

At under CA$1,000, "affordable" might not be the word we'd use to describe the Samsung Galaxy S25 FE. However, it retains the price point of its predecessor and brings some much-needed updates from the "Fan Edition" version of the Galaxy S24 FE.

The Galaxy S25 FE gets the Exynos 2400 chipset, which powers the international versions of the Galaxy S24 and S24+. It isn't expected to beat the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Elite processor on the pricier Galaxy S25 models, but it is a step up from the Galaxy S24 FE. The battery also has a larger 4,900mAh capacity with 45W wired charging support, up from last year's 4,700mAh battery with 25W wired charging.

Samsung brings AI features to its Galaxy Buds

Photo: Samsung

We all know the AI features available on the new Samsung Galaxy S24 phones. The company plans to bring some of these to its Galaxy Buds features. The Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, Galaxy Buds 2, and Galaxy Buds FE are getting access to Live Translation and Interpretation through an over-the-air update it's rolling out now. This feature lets you get real-time conversation translation without looking at your phone. And these features work without the internet. You need to download the language packs you need.

The downside of this feature is it's only available to Galaxy Buds connected to S24 phones. But with Samsung rolling out Galaxy AI to some of its older devices, you'll gain access to them there.

Samsung unveiled its new Galaxy S24 and S24+ smartphones at its Unpacked event on Wednesday, boasting some impressive features and enhancements over the previous generation. The most notable innovation is the inclusion of generative AI capability on the device, like with the Galaxy S24 Ultra.

There are larger and brighter displays on both phones. The S24 has a 6.2-inch screen, and the S24+ has a 6.7-inch screen. Both come with a maximum brightness of 2,600 nits. The S24+ gets upgraded to a Quad HD resolution, while the S24 retains a Full HD+ resolution.
