Google Photos for iOS adds a cropping tool and better burst photo support

Following the update for Google Photos on Android, the app’s latest version on iOS brings with it a new cropping tool. So, it’s now easier to edit photos while on mobile. Aside from that, version 1.12.1 also claims to have “improved support” for taking burst photos. Google Photos should also start up faster now and make use of less cellular data. Plus, a feature iOS users will appreciate: less of a drain on the phone’s battery. The app is now available for download on the Apple App Store for free.

Apple Camp is back for the summer!

It's mid-way through July and between summer family getaways I'm also looking at what else the kids want to do that doesn't require a full commitment of a week or even a full day. Sometimes we just want a little something that takes a morning or afternoon. 

Apple hosts a really great short camp solution for kids over the summer months. The in-store experience offers a themed project that kids can work on using the latest technology through Apple's devices. Your kids don't need to have Apple products to attend as everything is provided but it does help!

TIFFxPOP features high-end VR experiences from around the world

This summer TIFF brings virtual reality experience in a series of pop-up installations. Part 2 opens July 15 to 17, 2016 at the TIFF Bell Lightbox in Toronto. Titled POP 02: VR + Empathy + Real-World Storytelling is all about real-life storytelling. Experiences are through the eyes of someone else and seeing things from another person's perspective. Installations offer human emotional connections along side technology. A look at how virtual reality meets real life.
