Microsoft Skype gets a design overhaul on iOS

Microsoft updates its Skype app for iPhone and iPad to bring an easier-to-use interface and more features to its iPad app. Both apps get a new Recents tab and search tool, so it will be easier for you to track down conversations and specific people or groups. It’s now easier also to switch between call and chat interfaces, making it simpler for you to share content in the middle of a conversation. Skype also introduces new gesture commands like swiping on a contact to make a call or swiping on a message chain to respond or delete the messages.

The iPad app gets more features like location sharing, interactive notifications, and options to start groups and chats. It also should be easier for the tablet users to receive and send photos and import contacts from iOS address book. The updates for the apps are available for download already and run on iOS 7 or later.
