J.D. Power: Customer service is critical for carriers as unprecedented contract expirations loom  

An unprecedented number of wireless contracts are set to expire in June 2015 which means that millions of Canadians will be shopping around for the best deals as well as considering the best customer service from competing carriers.

Because of the result of changes introduced by the 2013 Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunications Commission’s (CRTC) Wireless Code—it is a critical time for wireless carriers to have a comprehensive customer service strategy in place, according to the J.D. Google PR head leaves for Uber

Uber is gaining a high-profile member for its team. Longtime PR boss for Google, Rachel Whetstone, leaves the tech giant for Uber. Whetstone will replace David Plouffe as the SVP of public policy and communications at Uber. Plouffe will become the chief adviser to the company and CEO Travis Kalanick. He’ll also be taking a seat on Uber’s board of directors.

Whetstone will be in charge of the day-to-day global policy and communication operations of the company, while Plouffe will be focusing on the “big picture policy issues” and take on special projects that’ll help further the business’s goals. Jessica Powell will become the interim communications operations head at Google.

Google Fit adds new features to app

Google is making its fitness tracker app a bit more functional with the latest update. The app now tracks the distance and calories burned, better fitness history overview, a new watch face for Android Wear, and new widget. If you want to track distance and calories burned, you would need to include your gender, height, and weight. You can download the app for free in the link below.

‘Supergirl’ gets first official trailer

CBS’ Supergirl is one step closer to making its official debut and we get a sneak peek of what we can expect from Superman’s cousin. It’ll be joining the growing ranks of DC adaptations for the small screen, like Arrow, The Flash, and Gotham. It’s created by Arrow and The Flash’s Greg Berlanti and writer Ali Adler. It’s starring Melissa Benoist as Kara Danvers a.k.a. Kara Zor-El. She’s also starring alongside Mehcad Brooks, Calista Flockhart, David Harewood, Chyler Leigh, and Lauren Benanti. It’s set to make its debut this November 2015 in the US.
