Report claims BlackBerry Messenger on Android has second highest user retention

Loyalty seems to be at the core of BlackBerry fans. According to data published by Silicon Valley mobile analytics provider Quettra, user retention of BBM on Android is second highest among 22 Android social and messaging apps (including Facebook Messenger WhatsApp, Twitter, Instagram, etc.).  Facebook Messenger ranks highest while BBM is able to hold onto over 93% of its users after 30 days. This is said to be over 43% more than the average user retention after 30 days. Sixty days later user retention is at 89% and then at 82% after 80 days.

BlackBerry said the report doesn’t come as a surprise. They have passed 100 million Android installations on Google Play after the past 18 months of availability. And they maintain an average of 4.3 rating from its 4.4 million user reviews.

The Logitech Keys-To-Go was designed to be a sleek and slim standalone Bluetooth keyboard for iOS devices. Now, the company wants to bring its portability to Android and Windows mobile devices. The keyboard still maintains its thin and light form. It is also built with water-repellent FabricSkin to protect it from dirt and spills. This time, Logitech added a row of Android and Windows shortcut keys. It even comes with a portable stand that attaches to the keyboard so it can hold your smartphone at an upright position. The Keys-To-Go will work with Android platform 4.1 and higher and Windows 7 and higher. It retails for US$69.99.

SlideShow: HTC One (M9)

Text and Photos by Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Here's a quick look at HTC's new flagship, the HTC ONE (M9). Adhering to the 'If it ain't broke, don't fix it,' adage, the ONE (M9) continues on the design path taken with the M7 and (M8). While it looks like a subtle merging of its predecessors, it it does feel like a more refined smartphone. New this is year is a sleek, gunmetal finish with a new hairline finish that's smooth yet not slippery. Obsessive attention to detail is present in both the form factor as well as the numerous software tweaks, which I will focus on in detail once I've had ample time to review it. Stay tuned.
