Leak shows first Microsoft branded Lumia smartphone

A leak shows the front and back of the first non-Nokia branded Microsoft smartphone. Microsoft's RM-1090 looks to be an entry-level smartphone and successor to the short-lived Nokia X line of devices slated for emerging markets. With no Nokia branding anywhere, the device is a dual-SIM affair with what we expect are basic features. No word on when this is shipping or even if it will make its way to Canada but it does give us a clearer idea of what Microsoft has in store for its Windows Phone business.

Android OS 5.0 Lollipop launching on Google Play and Nexus devices

The latest, greatest version of Google's popular Android OS, version 5.0 or Lollipop is going to start rolling out on Google Play Edition and Nexus Devices today. Featuring an all new look and feel hinged on the new Material Design user interface, a move towards 64Bit computing on certain devices. Google is including Lollipop in the newly announced Nexus 6 phablet, Nexus 9 tablet and Nexus Player set-top box.
