Review: LG Optimus LTE Android smartphone

What LG has done by releasing the LG Optimus is set the Android smartphone bar really high. In some cases, the LG Optimus, is higher in specs and features  than Samsung's 'chosen' Galaxy Nexus which is the flagship Android device of the season sporting the new Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich.

Visually unassuming, the LG Optimus is surprisingly thin and light for a smartphone of this pedigree. It brings a dual-core 1.5Ghz processor, 1GB of RAM and an HD display which is stunning to behold. The Optimus LG also features an 8 Megapixel camera as well as the ability to shoot 1080p HD videos.

SourceCode: Why RIM's PlayBook might still surprise us

SlideShow: Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0 smartphone

Finally in hand, here are some early photos of the Samsung Galaxy Nexus Android 4.0 super smartphone. The first Ice Cream Sandwich enabled Android smartphone is coming to Bell and Virgin on Decemeber 8 and will be available to other carriers in 2012. We see the Galaxy Nexus hanging with its rival the LG Optimus LTE as well as its predecessor, the Google Nexus S as well as the new Motorola RAZR.

Bell and Virgin Mobile to release the Galaxy Nexus on Dec 8, $150 on 3-year plan

Galaxy Nexus from Google will be landing in Canada on December 8 at Virgin Mobile and Bell. Both those companies have sign up pages on their websites. Canada gets the goods ahead of the US which still has to announce a release date for the Galaxy Nexus. Check out our first impressions of the device.
