Amazon Prime subscribers in Canada can now watch Amazon Videos

If you're an Amazon Prime subscriber in Canada, there's a workaround to watching Amazon Prime video shows like the highly anticipated Grand Tour which brings together former Top Gear hosts Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond and James May, as well as other Amazon exclusives. In order to watch the shows, you need to log in to Amazon.com and access the Amazon Video from there. I was able to do it on a MacBook Pro but had to download an install Microsoft Silverlight to be able to watch the video. Amazon Video apps or devices don't seem to work yet but at least we can watch shows on our PCs via the browser.

This great news gets only better as Canadians should be able to watch the shows through Amazon.ca soon without having to go to the US website. For long time Prime subscribers, it is like getting a free subscription to a streaming service (although US Prime subscribers have long had access to this).

The service costs $79, this gives Canadians free two-day shipping to "most cities" in Canada. In rural areas, specifically North or the Maritimes, users get unlimited shipping but without the two-day guarantee. Hit jump to read more about the truncated Amazon Prime service in Canada.
