The Apple Beat: Last Mover Advantage in the wearables game may pay off in the long run

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Even as a pre-production prototype, the Apple Watch is the most interesting wearable/smartwatch I've had the chance to try, many devices shipping right now don't even come close.

At first glance, it seems that Apple might have missed the opportunity of shipping its Apple Watch in time for the holidays, the truth is they just gained a huge advantage over the competition.

Apple Watch launch reportedly pushed back to spring

If you have been waiting for Apple's first wearable to make its way to you immediately after the holidays, it looks like you are in for a bit of wait. According to 9to5Mac, the launch of the Apple Watch has been pushed back to spring of 2015. Apple Watch goes to Fashion Week in Paris chaperoned by Ive and Newson

It's clear that Apple Watch is as much a wearable gadget as it is a fashion object and while Apple's treasured watch isn't slated for release until early 2015, Jony Ive and his bestie Marc Newson were on hand to chaperone their newest creation in and around the high-glitz events of the fashion capital. The more expensive variants of the Apple Watch are expected to cost a premium price and will likely be made available in high-end botiques and ateliers catering to fashion-forward buyers, so it makes good sense for Apple to send it's most articulate experts on Apple Watch to represent it to a prospective new market.

SlideShow: Apple Watch

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

The Apple Watch was 2014's most awaited product and Apple's newest product category since the iPad and it doesn't dissapoint in terms of looks and expected functionality.

Luxury design and finish, a whole new user interface unlike anything we've seen before, a sweet Digital Crown interface, new Watch OS, sapphire crystal, health tracking sensors and various new uses for emojis, NFC, walkie-talkie functionality and let's not forget Apple Pay. Here are my favourite photos of Apple Watch from the Apple Event.
