Apple's new iPad Pro campaign doubles down on the Post PC promise

Is the iPad Pro a computer or isn't it? Is is something better? These are the existential questions Apple has to answer time and again. The latest iPad Pro ad campaign comes at a time when we're expecting a refresh of the tablet line and is are based on tweets from frustrated PC owners. There are various instances where iPads are better than a computer (or a PC), with better battery life, no risk of viruses and 4G-LTE variants available for on-the-go use.

Apple sees the iPad Pro as the future of computing, that much is clear. It has continued to push the device in enterprise with partnerships from SAP, IBM and others and has even matched various features of popular 2-in-1 PCs (keyboard, pencil, more powerful processors, the ability to edit 4K video). With iPad sales continuing to shrink, the company needs to bring awareness to what the product can do for users and, hopefully, come up with updated versions that offer more compelling reasons to upgrade.

Apple's WWDC 2017 will take place in San Jose on June 5-9

By Gadjo Cardenas Sevilla

Apple's yearly World Wide Developer's Conference (WWDC) will move to San Jose on June 5 to 9 of this year. WWDC had been held at the Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco for decades, and while many speculated that the Apple Campus 2 would be finished in time to host this year's dev and engineer pow-wow, it seems the mothership isn't ready to accept the thousands of participants yet.

Instead, WWDC 2017 will take place at the McEnery Convention Center in San Jose, closer to the companys headquarters. WWDC 2017 will give developers access to more than 1,000 Apple engineers with opportunities to meet and engage with them throughout the conference.

Apple joins Wireless Charging Consortium, fuels speculation on new iPhones

Every move Apple makes is a seismic one in the industry and usually a hint of things to come or a glimpse on what the company is working on next. Apple has reportedly joined the Wireless Charging Consortium, lending credence to the possibility that upcoming iPhones and possibly iPads will be able to use wireless charging technology.

While wireless charging has been available for smartphones for a long time now, Apple has resisted in putting the technology in its iOS devices. Although the Apple Watch has always been charged using an inductive charger, iPhones and iPads have solely relied on Lightning connectors.
