Macs and iDevices outsell all Windows PCs during holiday quarter

Macs might not add up to much in terms of PC market share as Macs make up only 14% of total PCs sold but add in the iPhones and iPads and that number is dramatic. As a company, Apple has surpassed PC market sales with its Macs as well as its iDevices and this means more new users are opting to go with mobile devices than with new PCs. Research from Analyst Benedict Evans points to another observation, "this is a pretty good illustration of the scale of mobile: Apple limits itself only to the high end of the mobile market but still sells more units than the whole PC industry."

iTunes Radio debuts down under as Australia gets streaming service

It's certainly a G'day in Oz now that iTunes Radio has officially been launched. Apple announced iTunes Radio as available to music fans in Australia. iTunes Radio is a free Internet radio service featuring over 100 stations and an incredible catalog of music from the iTunes Store, combined with features only iTunes can deliver.

When you tune into iTunes Radio on your iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, Mac, PC or Apple TV. Apple's Eddie Cue noted that the company hopes to launch the service in 100 countries, could Canada be far behind? Fingers crossed, we'll get out iTunes Radio sooner rather than later.

Apple's new flagship San Francisco Retail Store gets approved

The revamped Union Station Apple Retail Store, which is said to be as striking and iconic as New York's 5th Avenue Glass Cube, should see the light of day after it was 'approved with conditions'.

This means Apple needs to comply with certain regulations but will likely be able to build the impressive storefront it desires for what is really its hometown Apple Store. The Union Station locations is a stone's throw away from both the Moscone North (where WWDC is held) and the Yerba Buena Centre for the Arts (location of many an epic Apple product unveilings). This new flagship store will feature a cantilevered building structure with an all-glass front holding two giant two-story sliding glass doors. Other improvements, according to Appleinsider, include a waterfall and free Wi-Fi in the rear plaza.

Apple's made good on its previous promises to create a store without disrupting the original flavour of the buildings it occupies. Just check out its Grand Central Station store in New York as well as various locations in Europe which seamlessly integrate the store concept with existing architecture.

Apple's new iPhone 5s advert goes behind the scenes of a Burberry shoot

The iPhone 5s was used to shoot a runway show for Burberry and Apple finally released the behind the scenes video in the form of an advertisemenf for the iPhone 5s titled "On the runway with iPhone 5s." Interesting to see how a smartphone can be integrated into this shooting process and all the interesting ways they used the features of the phone (like slo-mo) to give the catwalk scenes more panache.
