Sony announces high resolution PlayStation 4 Pro

Sony Interactive Entertainment today announced that a new slimmer and lighter PlayStation4  computer entertainment system with a 500GB HDD will become available in Japan, North America and in Europe starting from September 15, 2016, at manufacturer's suggested retail price (MSRP) of $379.99 CAD.

The internal architecture of the new PS4 system has been revamped, reducing its volume by more than 30% compared to the previous models and reducing its weight by 25% and 16% compared to the first (CUH-1000 series) and current (CUH-1200 series) models respectively. Also, the new PS4 system is more energy efficient, as the power consumption has been cut by more than 34% and 28% compared to the very first and current models.

18 months after the release of their original Apple Watch, Apple has announced the Series 2 which brings overall improvements in performance and display technology plus some serious water resistance and activity tracking for swimmers.

While it looks almost identical to its predecessor, the Series 2 devices have all-new processors under the hood including a dual-core processor, faster GPU and two features that many consumers have been clamouring for, water resistance and an onboard GPS for running.

Samsung outlines Canadian product exchange for Note 7 devices

Samsung Canada announced the immediate availability of a Canadian Product Exchange for Galaxy Note7 owners. This exchange was launched in response to the recent announcement regarding reported battery cell issues with the Galaxy Note7 device.

"Samsung holds safety and consumer satisfaction as a top priority," says Paul Brannen, Executive Vice President, Mobile Solutions, Samsung Electronics Canada. "While there have been no confirmed incidents in Canada, Samsung is taking a proactive approach to address customer needs around the Note7 and immediately addressing any consumer concerns."  

The Canadian Product Exchange will offer consumers the following choices:

  1. Exchange current Galaxy Note7 device with a new Galaxy Note7
  2. Exchange current Galaxy Note7 for a Galaxy S7 or Galaxy S7edge through the carrier or retail outlet where they purchased their device
